Women Enterprise Workz (WEworkz)is a co-operative that encourages and empowers Singaporean women, especially the more vulnerable, to engage in home-based economic activities.
Launched in March 2008, facilitated by the South West Community Development Council (CDC) and supported by the Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF), WEworkz matches the women’s skills and interests by training them to produce a variety of products such as Eco Bags (made from Recycled Banners), Wood Art Products, Pressed Flowers, Paper Craft and Ceramics and Beaded Accessories.
Despite their circumstance, these homemakers have a new identity–they are also a Contributor to Society, as they enrich their lives and achieve economic independence.
WEworkz encourages and empowers Singaporean women, especially the more vulnerable, who are unable to commit to full-time employment due to their family priorities or circumstances, to engage in home-based economic activities. Providing training and business opportunities that fit personal skills and interests of the members. Recycled paper crafts, wood art handicrafts, accessories and corporate gifts are examples of their beautiful products.
