Social Innovation Park in collaboration with Dathappy and La French Singapore conducted an unique full-day event called Mindful Hackathon for 120 students of Global Indian International School (GIIS) on January 22, 2020. The event was an effort to inspire young minds to build mindful technological solutions to solve some of the social problems relevant to our society. It was a platform to create positive changemakers that could inspire change by building solutions to be implemented in school. The solutions were quite interesting right from designing a wireframe for website/ app/ games for food wastage, water conservation, healthcare and even sex education in school.
The session ended with groups presenting their ideas. A group of 20 students have been selected to be mentored by Dathappy to further develop their prototype over the period of 3 months. Successful prototypes will be then given an opportunity to be implemented in school with support from the school management.
SIP envisions to create a movement wherein young minds can be inspired to bring about positive social innovations to life. This is the reason why we exist to co-build a more inclusive, sustainable and mindful world.
